Kollywood directors, producers and distributors are excited to hear that Tamil Nadu (TN) government has ordered movie halls to open by November 10. It's the right time to open cinema halls before Diwali.
On the other hand, there are some film makers who look optimistic about the decision. In the original decision by the government, the cinema halls should be having an occupancy rate of 50%. At the same time it will be a delight for the audience to watch their desired movies at this point of time.
All cinema owners have to ensure that they follow the order of the state government to the best of their ethics so that no coronavirus cases could be spread. There re a few films that are expected to release by this time.
Some of them include Ponram’s Sasikumar-starrer MGR Magan, Jiiva-Arulnithi-starrer Kalathil Sandhippom and Santhosh P Jayakumar’s Irandam Kuthu starring himself in the pivotal roles.
This is what the makers have to say, “We are well aware of the fact that we can look forward only to Tamil Nadu market. But we are taking a risk, though a final confirmation is yet to be made by the producer in a day’s tine.
One of the exhibitors named Ruban Mathivanan says he likes to open both the screens depending on the content. Look what he says, “We will be following the SOPs issued by the government. I think there will be enough audience for the 50 percent occupancy. We will take call on the daily number of shows and allotment after knowing the number of films which will release.”
SR Prabhu (distributor) says both the parties should be ready before theatres are finally opened. “Though producers took a stand that they will not pay VPF, the topic will be discussed in the coming days.” He says.
